A word of encouragement, I hear God saying to someone, Look again!
In 2 Kings 4:1-7 the story of widow with the jar of oil is found. No provider, no breadwinner, debts piled high and her remaining source of comfort – her sons, were about to be taken away.
She was the very definition of someone who had nothing! She had nothing or so she thought. “…What do you have in the house”, Elisha asked her.
… in order words, you have told me what you lack, now, look again within your house.
The crowds that had followed Jesus and listened to Him speak for hours were understandably hungry. The disciples wanted Jesus to dismiss the crowds, so they could go find food in nearby villages. “You give them something to eat”, Jesus responded. In order words, “disciples, you say there is no food, “look again”
Ezekiel in Ezekiel Chapter 37, sees a valley of dry bones, very dry bones, in short, the absence of life. God invites Ezekiel to fact check what he sees. “Can these bones live? In other words, “Look again, can you see life?” Ezekiel wisely passed to question back to God.
In all three Biblical examples, we know how the story ends. For the widow, out of lack came the recollection of the possession of a little jar of oil, and that led to a miracle of abundance that rewrote her destiny.
The disciples located a lunch of 2 fish and 5 loaves and that kids’ sized meal, fed 5000 men, besides women and children!
From a valley of very dry bones to an exceeding great army. Ezekiel looked again and because he spoke as he was commanded, a vast army stood where there was once, dry bones!
You say you have nothing, I hear God say, look again!
He said, notice how each of these examples in the Bible; the widow, the disciples, Ezekiel, they all looked to Me ultimately, before they looked again. If you are struggling with seeing things differently, ask Me to give you fresh eyes to see, then look again!
Your miracle is waiting on you.
