A few weeks ago, I was having a time of worship and prayers and part of me wanted to finish praying so I could go to bed but I wasn’t feeling sleepy at all.
So, I said, “Holy Spirit, what’s going on, I am not feeling sleepy, is there something you want to tell me?” – straight away I heard Him reply, Mathew 14:15.
Mathew 14:15?
Mathew 14:15, He repeated.
So, I grabbed my Bible, not sure what the verse would say and read, “As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.” Matt 14:15 NIV
Before I finished reading the verse, I heard Holy Spirit say, “there is provision in the remote place”.
Where is your remote, place? Where is that place that looks like you are running out of, or have already run out of options?
Look again, there is provision. Bring them to Me. Let Me meet you in the remote place.
In Matthew’s account of the story, ( Matthew 14:13-22) the disciples wanted to send the people away. A large crowd had followed Jesus to listen to Him, and He was healing their sick. It was a remote place and getting late and the disciples said to Jesus, send the people away to go buy food from the villages.
Jesus doesn’t accept that the remoteness of the place or the lateness of the day called for the crowd to be sent away. Jesus challenges the disciples, “they don’t need to go away, you give them something to eat!” His challenge to them causes them to see the possibility in the little they have.
They responded, “we have only five of bread and two fish”. “Bring them here to me” Jesus replied. He directed the people to sit on the grass. He took the five loaves and two fish.
He looked up to heaven, gave thanks and broke the bread, then He gave them to the disciples. The disciples in turn gave them to the people. The people all ate and were satisfied. The disciples picked baskets full of leftover pieces. Five thousand men, besides women and children ate and were satisfied in that remote place!
What has constituted a remote place in your life? May the Holy Spirit open your eyes to what is already available in that place, for your provision, blessing and deliverance. Bring those areas which the Holy Spirit highlights to you, to Jesus.
There is provision in that remote place! Bring them to Jesus and watch Him give back to you so that the remote place, that situation, becomes a place of satisfaction and fulfilment. Miracles will be recorded in that place!
I said, “Lord, thank you, is there anything else you want to tell me from this?
He asked me to tell you, “This problem, the problem you are facing will not overwhelm you! It is only setting the stage for God to show up in your life!”
Thanks for reading.
